What is Bio Acoustics?
Bioacoustics is the scientific study of sound as it relates to living organisms. Bioacoustics encompasses various disciplines such as biology, acoustics, physics, and ecology to understand the role of sound in communication, behavior, and the overall functioning of organisms and ego systems.
Animal Bio Acoustics studies the vocalizations of animals and eco systems.
Human Bio Acoustics, pioneered by Sharry Edwards, focuses on the therapeutic application of sound and its potential effects on the body and mind, recognizing that different frequencies and vibrations can have profound impacts on our physiological and psychological states.
The vagus nerve is the tenth cranial nerve, it contains sensory fibers that create a pathway that interfaces with the parasympathetic control of the heart, lungs, and digestive tract. The vagus is the longest nerve of the autonomic nervous system in the human body and comprises both sensory and motor fibers. Besides giving some output to various organs, the vagus nerve comprises between 80% and 90% of nerve signals that conveying information about the body's internal state to the brain. The information sent from the parasympathetic/sympathetic nervous system are delivered to the brain via nerve impulses along the vagus nerve. Human Bio Acoustics measures this energetic information exchange through vocal patterns, a non invasive way to gather information about the body's internal state. This works because the recurrent laryngeal nerves(branches of the vagus nerve) innervate the vocal chords, and through the laws of resonance and entrainment, vocal patterns can reveal the chemical processes taking place within the body itself.
If this seems confusing, go back in your mind to high school science class, every element, molecule, and compound has a atomic weight, and a natural vibratory state - or frequency. That frequency can be objectively measured and paired to various physiological states. When that substance interreacts with the body's processes, those patterns/interactions can be measured using sensitive equipment when recording the voice. A easy way to think of this is that if the frequency of a molecule is not harmonically aligned with your body's natural song, it pulls the system out of balance, and disrupts the body's song, like a new comer to a band, the whole system goes into overdrive to correct the new addition to preserve the quality of it's sound.
Human Bio Acoustics uses the data gathered from vocal prints to produce a holographic representation of the body's physiological state, calculating the harmonic inputs needed to balance disharmonious frequencies present in the voice.
This process reveals information that can be used as a pre diagnostic tool, or be used as a form of biofeedback which intends to assist the body to regain harmonic homeostasis, which is necessary to experience states of health.

What is Vocal Spectral Analysis?
Vocal spectral analysis is a technique used to analyze the acoustic properties of human speech or vocalizations. It involves examining the frequency content or spectral characteristics of the sound signal produced by the vocal cords during speech or singing.
Vocal spectral analysis is a technique used to analyze the acoustic properties of human speech or vocalizations. It involves examining the frequency content or spectral characteristics of the sound signal produced by the vocal cords during speech or singing.
The human voice consists of complex vibrations and harmonics that can be separated into different frequency bands using spectral analysis. Analyzing the spectral components of the sounds gives researchers and practitioners insights into various aspects of the voice, including pitch, formants, harmonics, and other acoustic features.
Spectral analysis is often performed using specialized software or tools that give a visual representations of the frequency content. This data is typically displayed as spectrograms or frequency spectra, where the intensity or power of each frequency component is plotted over time.
Vocal spectral analysis has applications in several fields, including speech therapy, linguistics, singing training, voice recognition, and forensic phonetics. Human Bio Acoustics applies that information to study the state of the persons physiological condition by using math and harmonics.
What is Vocal Profiling and what and what can it tell me about my health?
Bio Acoustics uses 2 methods of analysis to extract information from vocal prints, time frequency domain and Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) which converts a signal into individual spectral components and thereby provides frequency information about the signal.
Time frequency domain which logs the frequencies as they are spoken is useful for personality profiles, relationship compatibility, color therapy modalities as well as balancing the body with music. This technique has also been used by law enforcement as a lie detection method and helped to bring football coach and pedophile Jerry Sandeski to justice, allowing officers the specific weak point to target in their interrogation.
Vocal prints analyzed using FFT data are able to return specific accurate measurements of the frequencies in the voice, which are then used to determine the Frequency Equivalents of tissues, substances, nutrients, pathogens, toxins, hormones, ect that are out of balance in the body. Mathematical relationships are then used to assist uncovering the root causes of health concerns, predict upcoming problems, and identify treatments or standard diagnostic tests that are most beneficial for the clients individual situation.
Tone Trial & Sound Presentation Studies
For those who wish to use Bio Acoustics to its full potential as a tool for monitoring and managing their wellness, participation in tone trails and sound presentation studies is an option that is available 100% remotely. The process uses vocal print data to formulate individual frequency sets that are then tested with a practitioner present monitoring the body's response to the sounds, and the clients subjective feedback. Clients can use a sub woofer, or headphones with the appropriate frequency response specifications for trails and their playlist.
The goal of the tone trail is to bring the frequencies shown to be out of balance in the clients vocal print back into coherence through entrainment, stimulating a healing response, and restoring proper form and function to the body. This works to support overall health by assisting the body to establish it's own healthy biological rhythms with the specific inputs in the form the brain uses through low frequency analog sounds, which simulate brainwave patterns.
Subjective feedback, and bio-feed back equipment are used to evaluate and identify which tones will be loaded into the clients personal tone box for home use. This can be done over zoom or at the office, and typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Following the tone trial a playlist is made with the tones or harmonics of the tones that were best received by the body along with listening instructions.
Once the playlist is received, clients are asked to fill a short survey daily or every other day after listening to their tones. This data is used to monitor effects of the frequencies, contribute to the 30 years of research done at the Institute of Bio Acoustic Biology, and to trigger re evaluation when needed.
Most of the time a set of tones will be used for 2 - 4 weeks before booking a re-evaluation, unless the client comes to dislike the tones. When the body has had enough of a specific input, naturally it begins to resist it trying to maintain the balance it has established. In Bio Acoustics, the goal is to give the body tones it wants only until it no longer needs that input, and the client begins to dislike the sounds.
Depending on the progress being made with other lifestyle adjustments and insights gathered through vocal analysis most clients choose to get another set of tones with their follow up evaluation, and another tone trail is set up.
Potential clients can provide an appropriate vocal sample and contact information to the site and request a free 30 minute initial assessment. Some clients may be referred out to other practitioners doing research into their specific issues, or that are geographically closer to the client if navigating the technology is a challenge.
